The Ottawa County Historical Society and the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society invite you to the dedication of the newest Ohio Historical Marker in Ottawa County.   One side of the marker honors all of the past “Keepers of the Marblehead Light.”  The first two Keepers were Benajah and Rachel Wolcott in 1822 and 1832, respectively.  The last Keeper was Edward Herman in 1933 through 1943 when the U.S. Coast Guard took over the Lighthouse operations.  The other side of the marker tells the story of the Lighthouse builder, William Kelly.   Please join us to hear the fascinating story of the Marblehead Lighthouse Keepers and Builder.
